Two teams with two Hall Of Fame QBs. A rivalry that has been going on for a decade. It’s none other than Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning.
This is a duel that has been back-and-forth in 12 all-time meetings. Brady has the edge 8-4, but it is Manning who has the upper hand most recently, winning four of the last six head-to-heads.
Much like a good-ole’ fashioned Kobe Bryant or LeBron James debate amongst fans, rings come into the equation as the main basis of an argument between who’s better.
The same applies with these two. But what’ll matter Sunday is which one of these elite QBs will provide a better option for fantasy.
In this game, it won’t be about who can throw the most touchdowns, and who will throw for more yards. Both players will have owners covered, in that regard.
What needs to be taken into consideration is who will ground-and-pound more, and who will turn the ball over less.
It should be evident on why turnovers matter, but as far as running the football, this will determine who has the better stat line.
Knowing this, the nod should be given to the ‘Golden Boy.’
Brady isn’t as turnover prone as Manning is when going head-to-head. Brady has thrown 12 interceptions to Manning’s 19.
Unlike the New England Patriots, it is uncertain that the Denver Broncos will have a special defensive scheme to neutralize Brady. For what its worth, this Bronco defense has the same core of players. Brady lit them up last season, but it didn’t help with all the three-and-outs.
With Manning having a top ranked running game – dating back to last year – he’ll be sure to utilize it. He has to know the Pats have a special defense designed just for him, as usual. Knowing that they’ve had success with the designed schemes against him, Manning will try to keep them guessing.
At the end of it all, owners can really go no wrong with whomever. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the match-up of epic proportions.
