One of the best stories of the fantasy basketball season has been the explosion of Houston Rockets C Omer Asik. He was undrafted in a large number of leagues, but he has played like a top-five big man all season.
The former Chicago Bull headed to Houston in the off-season. He joined a star-studded free agent class that included Jeremy Lin and James Harden. However, of the three, Asik may be turning the most heads this fantasy season.

The center is currently grabbing 11.7 rebounds per game and is tied for second in the NBA with Memphis Grizzlies’ Zach Randolph. No one in fantasy thought Asik could rebound like this, so the seven-footer has easily been one of the best value picks of the entire fantasy season.
Asik is also scoring 10.2 points a game, which may not be the strongest total, but it certainly isn’t the worst among fantasy centers. He is shooting a respectable 53.6 % from the field and is gaining confidence with every hook shot.
Asik will be a steady source of rebounds throughout the fantasy playoffs. He will be able to grab at least 10 boards per game and could go over 70 in a week if Chicago plays more than four games.
Rebounding may be the hardest thing in fantasy basketball to predict, but Asik seems like a sure thing night after night.
