One of the surprising contributors to the Memphis Grizzlies this season has been flex-guard Jerryd Bayless.
Bayless may be coming off the bench for the Grizzlies, but that hasn’t stopped him from putting up reliable fantasy basketball numbers over the last couple weeks.
In the team’s latest 110-106 win over the Boston Celtics on Saturday, Bayless scored a season-high 30 points. He added three assists, four rebounds, and only turned the ball over twice in 38 minutes of play.
This has become the norm from the guard this month, as Bayless has scored an incredible 22.2 points over the last five games. Bayless is also hitting 2.5 three-pointers over this stretch and has become a spark of the bench for the Grizzlies. He is knocking down almost every shot he takes and is even hitting 83.9 % of his free throws.
Bayless also qualifies as both a point guard and a shooting guard, so he can give fantasy owners some extra depth. It is always important to have as much depth as possible heading into the fantasy playoffs, so the dual-eligibility from Bayless will prove to be huge in the final weeks of the season.
Bayless can be a great scorer to find on the waiver wire in smaller leagues. He can add a couple threes and will be able to add at least 10 points a game down the stretch for fantasy owners.
