Not only does DeAndre Hopkins have more fantasy football points than the sure-handed Andre Johnson through two weeks of football, the rookie wide receiver is actually the healthier of the two! Hopkins began his first Houston Texans training camp with a ton of expectations and with just a few games to look at, he has definitely given Houston what it needs.
Johnson has been quarterback Matt Schaub‘s go-to target for over a decade, so it might be strange to see the Texans’ signal-caller looking a rookie’s way in the coming weeks. However, that’s the nature of the beast as Johnson’s Week 2 concussion might keep him out of the lineup.
We all know that Houston loves to throw the ball, which means that Hopkins should be a valuable fantasy option from here on out. Not to mention, the red-zone looks that Hopkins is about to get isn’t even fair. Therefore, this Texans’ wide receiver is undoubtedly the best waiver-wire snag for Week 3 as he will be a difference maker in one of the NFL‘s top offenses.
With that being said, the Texans square off against the Seattle Seahawks in two weeks, and that unforgiving secondary is sure to take advantage of Hopkins’ inexperience at the professional level. While Hopkins looks magical after a two-touchdown performance in Week 2, be sure not to rank this kid too high, unless of course Johnson’s concussion is severe or Hopkins emerges as Schaub’s go-to target.
