Injury has a knack for opening up opportunities. This is especially true in high-powered offenses like the New Orleans Saints, and the injury to Lance Moore’s hand opens the door for Kenny Stills to shine.
Normally I wouldn’t advocate grabbing a third-string receiver off the waiver wire. However, there is a case to be made for Stills. As a rookie, he’s shown a willingness to take direction from quarterback Drew Brees and head coach Sean Payton. In limited action he’s demonstrated soft hands, good field presence and an uncanny knack for getting open when Brees needs him most.

Stills flashed the best of his skills in the Saints’ Week 6 game against the New England Patriots where he caught three balls for 64 yards and a crucial 34-yard touchdown to put the Saints back in the game.
On paper, it might look bleak for Stills, who is technically behind Moore on the wide receiver depth chart. However, you should also consider that in the Saints’ offense, Moore’s route tree is a mirror that sometimes over laps and exchanges with tight end Jimmy Graham.
Stills continues to build chemistry and confidence with Brees while Moore misses time. Graham injured his foot late in the game against the Patriots and his status for Week 8 is up in the air. Considering the high-powered nature of the Saints’ offense, you want to get any little piece of it you can. Watch the upcoming injury reports. If Graham or Moore miss time, Stills will make the most of the opportunity.
Still and the Saints have a Week 7 bye. He might be worth stashing this week when he’s off the radar, especially if you have one of the many receivers on a bye in Week 8.
