It’s been a roller-coaster ride for T.Y. Hilton this season. He wasn’t very involved in the team’s plans early on but has since seen his snap-count increase, as the Indianapolis Colts‘ coaches realized they were making a mistake by keeping him off the field. Still, he has yet to post two solid stat-lines in a row. He comes in and out of the picture which is incredibly frustrating for fantasy owners.
After torching the Seattle Seahawks for 140 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5, Hilton again had a disappointing outing last week against the San Diego Chargers. What makes the situation more confusing is that Seattle has one of the best secondaries in the league and the Chargers have one of the worst. Something isn’t quite adding up properly. As strange and annoying as it is, however, it’s still hard to sit him. He has incredible talent and he gets to play catch with one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. It’s only a matter of time before the two get on a track that never runs off course. For now, as difficult as it is to be totally confident sending him out to battle for your team, you have to keep playing him. Take solace in the fact that he’s an excellent bet to bounce back this week when the Colts take on Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

Manning’s return to Indy has been the biggest story of the week. Emotions aside, though, we can automatically pencil in at least 3o points for the Broncos and that’s still being conservative. The Colts (or anyone else, for that matter) have no way of shutting down the Broncos’ juggernaut offense so they’re almost certain to be playing from behind for most of the game. That means lots of passing and lots of opportunities for Hilton. The Broncos’ secondary has also been pretty terrible this season so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him run wild and deep a few times in this one.
Whether the Colts win or lose, the pieces are in place for Hilton to bounce back with a strong game this week. It might be tough, but start Hilton with confidence.
