The Houston Texans have definitely had their fair share of struggles this year, making many of their fantasy players irrelevant. But, a recent diamond in the rough has emerged with tight end Garrett Graham. Heading into Week 12, Graham is a valuable waiver wire pickup worth adding to your fantasy football team.
Without usual Texans starting tight end Owen Daniels, Graham was able to fill in nicely last week. He has seven catches on 13 targets, going for 136 yards and a touchdown. He hasn’t done a whole bunch over the course of the entire season, but his yardage total from last week was a career-high for the tight end. The 13 targets are considerably worth noting as wideout Andre Johnson draws double-coverage often, making Graham the safety valve for quarterback Case Keenum.
Daniels will out for at least another of couple of weeks but in Week 12, Graham makes for a nice waiver wire pickup. The Texans and Graham face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have had their fair of struggles as well.
The Jaguars are second to last in the league against fantasy football tight ends, allowing an average of 10.6 fantasy points to the position. They have been burned for seven touchdowns by tight ends this season and have only kept opposing tight ends out of the end zone in four of their 10 games, with two of the four occurring in the first two weeks of the season.
If you’re looking for a fill-in tight end this week for an underperforming player or a player on their bye week, Graham is the perfect option. His role in the passing game has increased, and he’s facing an awful pass defense in the Jaguars. Expect Graham to see plenty of opportunities and to find the end zone for his fourth score of the season.
