After winning the Stanley Cup and the Conn Smythe Trophy (Playoff MVP) last year, Chicago Blackhawks RW Patrick Kane wasn’t exactly a sleeper in fantasy hockey drafts. In fact, the Buffalo native became a fixture in the first round of fantasy drafts.
As we conclude the second month of the fantasy season, though, Kane has certainly not disappointed any owner that took a shot on him. Kane has impressively racked up 32 points in the team’s 29 games this season and the winger is on a short list of NHL MVP candidates.
The 25-year-old has been so hot lately that he even won the NHL’s Player for the Month for November. He racked up 19 points (9 goals/10 assists) in 15 games last month and seemingly showed up on the scoring sheet every single night. He carried thousands of fantasy squads throughout the month and has quickly become the most talked about player in hockey.
Kane started this month in the same fashion, as the forward added two helpers in the team’s December debut. Chicago ended up losing the game 4-3 to the Dallas Stars, but Kane once again had a huge night for fantasy fans. He doesn’t appear to be slowly and fantasy fans can bet that Kane has a huge December as well.
Kane will be an elite fantasy option for the rest of the year and a 90-point season isn’t out of the question.
