A.J. Green has emerged as a superstar in both real and virtual football over the course of the last three years. The wideout is physically gifted with incredible size, speed and athleticism and it hasn’t taken very long for him to put it all together. With two games left to play in the regular season he’s currently sitting on 87 receptions, 1268 yards and eight touchdowns, putting him on track for another terrific final line.
Amazingly, people will always find something to complain about. Despite his great numbers, many are harping on the fact that Green hasn’t hit 100 receiving yards in a game since since week 10. Personally I think it takes some serious nerve to complain about something like that when he’s still scored two touchdowns in the four games since then and caught at least 72 yards in three out of the four. Still, I guess it’s not insane to be wondering where those 100-yard games are if you consider the fact that he crossed the century mark in five straight before the “drought” started.
If you’re one of the crazies who’s been wondering the same thing about Green, rest easy. Have no fear when the Minnesota Vikings are here! The Vikings continue to get rocked through the air each week, showing they clearly don’t have the ability to shut down talented receivers. Just last week they let DeSean Jackson go bananas for 10 catches, 195 yards and a touchdown. Green should have very little difficulty breaking free for some huge plays. Not only will he have at least 100 yards in this game, but he could wind up with many more. His team needs a win badly and they’re playing at home against one of the most beatable teams in football. Expect a huge game from their best player.
