The Los Angles Lakers have endured another miserable, injury-plagued season. SG Kobe Bryant has spent almost the entire season on the bench due to injuries, while others like Steve Nash, Jordan Farmar, and Xavier Henry have also missed time.
Amongst all the team’s question marks, though, PF Pau Gasol is having an incredible fantasy basketball season. He has continuously been named in trade rumors, most recently for Cleveland Cavaliers C Andrew Bynum, but the forward keeps filling the box score for fantasy fans. Gasol has not been fazed by such rumors and the former All-Star has simply kept his nose to the grind.
Over the last three games, Gasol has been putting up elite fantasy numbers. The veteran has averaged 24.3 points to go along with 11 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 3.3 blocks. He has been laying down some serious ink in the stat sheet and has carried several fantasy squads in the process.
The Black Mamba is still weeks away from returning, if at all, so Los Angeles will rely on Gasol to carry the team moving forward. He will be at the top of the scoring sheet each night for LA and should be able to see his season totals slowing start to climb.
Gasol was supposed to have a bounce back fantasy performance this season, and he certainly hasn’t disappointed. He has become one of the hottest big men in fantasy and should be able to drop close to 18 points-10 rebounds on a nightly basis moving forward.
