Fantasy Baseball 2014: Top 10 Third Basemen Heading Into Week 4

Plouffe really burst onto the scene in Minnesota a season ago, showcasing some solid power. He is off to a solid start in 2014 thus far and his week three performance should entice some fantasy owners.

Week 3 Stats: .286 AVG, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 5 Runs, .360 OBP

Juan Uribe -- also known as "The Ageless Wonder" -- has been playing younger with age. It's hard to really say how Juan has done it, but I'm sure he can't keep it up forever. Still, if he's a free agent, there's no reason to let him get picked up by someone else.

Week 3 Stats: .273 AVG, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 3 Runs, .333 OBP

Aramis Ramirez, like Uribe, has gotten better with age -- or so it seems. Well, there's no way Ramirez is nearly as good as he once was with the Cubs, but he's not playing like a guy who's in his final few seasons in MLB.

Week 3 Stats: .286 AVG, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 3 Runs, .423 OBP

Sure, Callaspo is the starting first baseman for the Oakland Athletics, but for fantasy sake, he's listed as a third baseman as well. If you're looking for a 1B/3B combo, Callaspo would be the perfect guy to fill the slot.

Week 3 Stats: .296 AVG, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 2 Runs, .321 OBP

Casey McGehee is trying to help the Marlins reach the playoffs for the first time since 2003 -- yeah, it's been a while. Miami is a lot more exciting this season and a lot of it has to do with guys like McGehee who are exceeding expectations.

Week 3 Stats: .304 AVG, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 1 Run, .333 OBP

The Rockies have become a scary offensive team and Arenado is one of the few reasons for that. As a solid third baseman, Arenado has been picked up a lot lately in many fantasy leagues and is almost 100 percent owned. If he's available, pick him up because he plays in a very hitter-friendly park.

Week 3 Stats: .370 AVG, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 1 Run, 1 SB, .357 OBP

Suffering from many injuries over the past few seasons, Evan Longoria is looking to stay healthy for an entire year -- and so are his fantasy owners. The very talented third baseman has the potential to be the best at the position in the league and he showed that in week three.

Week 3 Stats: .348 AVG, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 4 Runs, .385 OBP

The actual third baseman for the Athletics, Josh Donaldson, was one of the better offensive third basemen in the league in 2013 and he is carrying that over into 2014. Donaldson can contribute to any and all offensive categories and I doubt that he will be available in your league. Making a trade for him as he is heating up wouldn't be a bad idea.

Week 3 Stats: .370 AVG, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 6 Runs, .433 OBP

Kevin Kouzmanoff is filling in for the injured Adrian Beltre and he's doing a tremendous job of it. While Kouzmanoff will likely be headed back to the bench when Beltre returns this week, he can still hang his hat on the numbers he put up in week three -- and he earned some playing time in the future.

Week 3 Stats: .345 AVG, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 6 Runs, .345 OBP

No surprise here. One of the most reliable and veteran third basemen in all of baseball is atop the list of best week three performers. David Wright's average was off the charts and he became many fantasy owners' favorite player. I doubt anyone will be willing to trade the reliable vet.
