For any fantasy baseball team, starting the right players is unsurprisingly the key to success. This is especially true in the immensely popular daily leagues, where a single player can mean the difference between a big payday and crushing disappointment. Based on matchups and talent, the following five players could all be in for an outstanding day on Aug. 11 and deserve your utmost consideration.

The Rays' first baseman has really been seeing the ball well in August, and is now batting a crisp .375 over his last eight games. Loney has a great matchup to take advantage of this evening, and he makes for a very interesting play. Colby Lewis and the Texas Rangers will visit the Rays, and though Lewis has pitched better of late, he still owns an awful 5.50 ERA on the season, and is allowing lefties to hit an incredibly high .363 to this point.

This speedster has been sizzling hot the past couple of weeks as he's now posted eight multi-hit efforts over his last 13 games. Revere is batting a robust .377 over that span, and should be in for more success today. The Phillies will host Jonathon Niese and the New York Mets this evening. NIese has posted an awful 5.43 ERA over his last eight appearances, and Revere is batting a lofty .347 vs. left-handed pitching this season.

3. 3B Manny Machado, Baltimore Orioles

The month of August has been quite kind to this 22-year-old, as Machado is batting a hefty .372 over 10 games to this point. He's actually been swinging the bat quite well dating back to late June, and should continue that trend today. The O's will face lefty Chris Capuano this evening, and the veteran has struggled to the tune of a 6.26 ERA over his last 23 innings of work.

2. SS Starlin Castro, Chicago Cubs

August has also been very kind to this highly talented shortstop, as Castro has posted an outstanding .405 average over nine games. He'll look to keep his bat scorching hot tonight when the Cubbies take on Yovani Gallardo and the Milwaukee Brewers. Gallardo has struggled of late, having allowed four earned runs or more four times in his last seven starts, In 37 career at bats, Castro has managed a lofty .378 average against him.

1. SP Jesse Hahn, San Diego Padres

This lanky right-hander has been all that and a bag of chips for the Padres this season. After a poor first outing, Hahn has dominated the league with a dazzling 1.79 ERA, and sports an excellent 7-2 record over those nine games. Look for yet another solid outing when the Padres host the Colorado Rockies today. Colorado owns a dismal 3-20 record over their last 23 road games, and have scored four runs or fewer in 19 of those contests.
