Top 5 Fantasy Football QB Sleepers After 2014 Preseason
It's always nice to have one of the top five quarterbacks in the league on your fantasy football team, but it can't always happen. The quarterback position is deep this season, so if you don't get an "elite" quarterback, there are other options. Here are five quarterbacks who could have surprisingly good seasons.
5. Shaun Hill
5. Shaun Hill
I'm not saying that you should draft Shaun Hill. But he is an experienced backup, and when he's had a chance to play, especially with the Detroit Lions, he has proven to be a very capable quarterback who puts up solid numbers. He is now the man in St. Louis, and he could have a decent year just as long as he gets the ball into Tavon Austin's hands.
4. Josh McCown
4. Josh McCown
Josh McCown had a renaissance season in 2013 with the Chicago Bears under Marc Trestman. Now with Tampa Bay, McCown gets the starting job, and he should have every chance to succeed with Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans on the outside.
3. Derek Carr
3. Derek Carr
Derek Carr should be the starter in Oakland, and if he's not Week 1, he will certainly be at some point this season. He got the start in the final preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, and he threw for three touchdowns. He is nothing like his brother, David, and Derek should have a good year if he's given the opportunity.
2. Carson Palmer
2. Carson Palmer
Carson Palmer has unbelievable weapons on the outside with Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald. With Andre Ellington coming out of the backfield and John Brown in the slot, Palmer could potentially have a career year in the NFC West. This could be a dangerous offense to watch out for.
1. Jay Cutler
1. Jay Cutler
Jay Cutler could be a top-five fantasy quarterback this season. Alshon Jeffery's emergence last season gives the Chicago Bears a two-headed monster on the outside with Brandon Marshall. If you end up with Cutler on your team, don't worry. As long as he stays healthy, he will have a good season.
