There is a big question mark surrounding the Indianapolis Colts running game this season. That is the reality. When it comes to the fantasy world, Ahmad Bradshaw is someone you should start in your week 2 fantasy football match up.
Despite Indianapolis giving the gift of a first round draft pick to the Cleveland Browns last year for Trent Richardson’s services, QB Andrew Luck and his receiving corps have had most of the weight put on their shoulders for offensive production in 2014.
In the team’s Week 1 game, they faced a vastly improved Denver Broncos defense. Richardson looked lethargic. He looked like a running back who got to where he is today because he played his college ball for an elite Alabama program ripe with multiple pro-ready offensive linemen creating running lanes for him.
Bradshaw on the other hand had some burst in his step and was a force out of the backfield when reeling in Luck’s passes. Bradshaw has long been injury prone, but it was clear after one game that he gives the Colts’ offense more life with the ball in his possession than T-Rich does.
Bradshaw averaged five yards per carry to Richardson’s 3.3. If you are in a PPR formatted league, No. 44 had a nice day for you with 70 yards on five catches against the Broncos.
This week against the Philadelphia Eagles should be a high scoring affair. If Bradshaw outplays Richardson early in this one, for a second week straight, he is going to see more touches and targets. All of which are a strong possibility.
