In Week 1 against the Houston Texans, Washington Redskins TE Jordan Reed was major fantasy football disappointment. He suffered a hamstring injury early in the first quarter and serious impacted his fantasy numbers, as he ended up catching just one ball for four yards in the season opener.
After sitting out of practice all week, it has officially come out that Reed will not be suiting up for the team’s Week 2 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He will leave a big hole in many fantasy lineups this weekend, especially since Jacksonville has been abused this season by tight ends.
Niles Paul and Logan Paulsen will fill in at the tight end position in Reed’s absence. They don’t have much experience or long-term fantasy value, because Reed will be back next week. Regardless, they will only be worth starting in emergency circumstances only this weekend.
Reed may be a little rusty, but he should be filling the box score in no time. Don’t drop him just yet, because he still has plenty of potential worth siting on. If you are looking for a temporary replacement, feel free to add Delaine Walker, Zach Ertz, Charles Clay, or Jermaine Gresham for the coming week.
