Weekly Fantasy Football: Top 5 RB Plays in Week 2
Jamaal Charles was the sure-fire No. 1 back going into 2014 fantasy drafts, but he didn't do much for owners in Week 1. Is Charles still a trustworthy back in your league? What about some of the other top running backs, where do they stand? Find out if the landscape for fantasy running backs has changed going into Week 2.
5. Giovani Bernard vs. Atlanta Falcons
5. Giovani Bernard vs. Atlanta Falcons
The first-round running back in a lot of fantasy leagues was good in Week 1 as he totaled over 100 total yards, but he couldn't find the end zone. Bernard has a great matchup against the Falcons in Week 2. He should gain over 100 yards again, but I have a feeling that he is going to find his way across the goal line for his first touchdown of the season too.
4. Arian Foster at Oakland Raiders
4. Arian Foster at Oakland Raiders
Foster has a chance to shine against the Raiders in Week 2. The Raiders' defense just gave up over 200-plus rushing yards to Chris Johnson and Chris Ivory, so Foster could be in line for a big game. It was nice to see Foster get a lot of work in Week 1 as he proved to be healthy and ready to handle the load for the rest of the season. Look for him to play like the Foster of old against the Raiders and expect 100-plus yards on the ground.
3. Marshawn Lynch at San Diego Chargers
3. Marshawn Lynch at San Diego Chargers
The 2014 Super Bowl starting running back has showed no signs of slowing down in 2014. He tore apart the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 and he put up some big points for fantasy owners. The Chargers' defense that he is going against is middle-of-the-line and don't pose much of a threat to stop Lynch at the line of scrimmage. Lynch owners, prepare for another great game from Beast Mode and get ready to reap the rewards in Week 2.
2. Jamaal Charles at Denver Broncos
2. Jamaal Charles at Denver Broncos
Charles had seven carries and 19 rushing yards and I'm sure fantasy owners were expecting a lot more. Head coach Andy Reid told reporters that Charles is going to get a heavy workload against the Broncos in Week 2, so if Reid is true to his word, then Charles should in line for a bounce-back game. I think the Chiefs star RB gets his touches, makes the most of them and ends up as one of the best backs in Week 2.
1. LeSean McCoy at Indianapolis Colts
1. LeSean McCoy at Indianapolis Colts
The Eagles' No. 1 back totaled about 70 yards in his first game, but he should see that number go up against the Colts in Week 2. The Colts' defense is not very good and they are ranked amongst the bottom half of fantasy defenses. Expect McCoy to embrace the stage on Monday Night Football and he could total about 150 total yards and a possible touchdown.
