Fantasy Football Week 3 Start Or Sit: Ahmad Bradshaw

If you weren’t awakened by Indianapolis ColtsAhmad Bradshaw in Week 1, then you certainly were awakened by his fantasy football performance Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The savvy veteran turned back the clock and looked like the shifty, mobile receiving threat we remember from his days with the New York Giants. I spoke after Week 1 about how Bradshaw was a legitimate top five waiver wire pickup. However, he is still only owned in 59.4 percent of ESPN fantasy leagues. My question is why are you scrolling past him on your free-agent list when you should be adding him to your starting lineup right this instant?

Feel free to add whoever you like, but Bradshaw was the third best running back last week in fantasy football (ESPN Standard Scoring). He put up 21 fantasy points and had two receiving touchdowns, bringing his season average to 14.5 fantasy points per game. The eighth-year veteran out of Marshall has averaged 5.3 yards per carry and 10 receptions on 11 targets over the past two games. On each reception he has scampered for an average of 9.6 yards; that’s almost a first down every time he catches the ball. Over the course of these first two weeks, he has seen a dramatic increase in playing time in the Colts’ offense.

There is no question Bradshaw is a primary threat in the receiving department for the Colts, but he has also shown he can rack up yards on the ground, too. Expect Bradshaw to dig a little more into Trent Richardson’s workload in Week 3, having a 50-50 timeshare in carries.

The Colts visit the Jacksonville Jaguars in search of their first win, so expect Bradshaw to play a big role in their offensive scheme. Jacksonville is currently ranked 31st in fantasy football against opposing running backs, so there is no excuse as to why Bradshaw should not be featured as a RB2 or Flex play.

Fantasy Football Week 3 Projections for Bradshaw: 15 carries, 79 yards, a TD, six receptions, 59 yards.
