If Khiry Robinson was a fantasy football dud for you in Week 3, don’t worry about it. The New Orleans Saints will play in the NFL‘s featured Sunday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys, and both teams have run the ball extremely well throughout the first three weeks of the season.
With lead running back Mark Ingram out due to injury, Robinson led the Saints with 18 carries for 69 yards last week against the Minnesota Vikings‘ middle-of-the-pack run defense. The Cowboys have a mid-level run-stopping defense as well, but their defense has a whole has a lot of holes that Robinson will look to exploit on Sunday. Dallas will have to respect New Orleans’ passing game, which is currently ranked fifth overall in the league, and this will open up the running lanes for Robinson.
Robinson’s teammate Pierre Thomas scored the Saints’ lone rushing touchdown of the game last week on a one-yard goal line run, but expect the Saints to trust Robinson more in these situations since he is the bigger running back of the two.
Sunday’s contest is a game that New Orleans must win if they want to crawl out of the 1-2 deficit that they’re currently in, and I’m sure that Saints head coach Sean Payton realizes that his team needs to keep a balanced attack in order to win games and get back on top.
Start Robinson this week against the Cowboys as an RB2 or at the flex position, because Drew Brees should have no problem getting his team in the red zone frequently against the Cowboys’ porous defense.
