Fantasy Football Week 5 Sleeper: Andrew Hawkins Provides Guaranteed Value

Andrew Hawkins is the Cleveland Browns‘ leading receiver, and he is also the biggest sleeper in fantasy football this week. Hawkins is the definition of consistency, having gotten double-digit targets and at least six receptions in all three games this season for the Browns. Even with Cleveland on a bye last week, Hawkins is still 16th in the NFL in targets. His production will be even more beneficial if you have him in a PPR league. The only thing he hasn’t done this season is score touchdowns, and that should change on Sunday.

The Browns are facing a very average Tennessee Titans defense that has allowed at least one 100-yard receiver in each of their last three games. Last Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, the Titans gave up 393 passing yards, four passing touchdowns and allowed two 100-yard Colts receivers. The Cleveland offense may not be quite as potent as Indy’s, but they can put some points on the board. You can look for the Browns to throw to Hawkins early and often. At just 5-foot-7, 180 pounds he isn’t exactly a red zone threat, but he can still find his way into the end zone on some underneath routes. Hawkins is great at getting yards after the catch and currently is 14th in the NFL for receivers in that category.

Hawkins isn’t going to be the top scorer on your fantasy team, but I’m not sure you could do much better than him with your flex spot. With the favorable matchup this week you could even use him as a low end WR2. He is Brian Hoyer‘s go-to guy, and with the lack of depth at receiver for the Browns, that isn’t going to change anytime soon. You can try to start a boom or bust guy if you want, but with Hawkins you will be getting guaranteed value. How much value remains to be seen, but for this week he is without a doubt the biggest sleeper in fantasy football.
