Andy Dalton Fantasy Football Week 5 Projection
The Cincinnati Bengals are 3-0 and their offense has been extremely productive so far this season. Quarterback Andy Dalton has been able to utilize his offensive weapons to put up some very solid fantasy numbers thus far. Dalton and the Bengals travel to face the New England Patriots in Week 5 for what should be a good matchup and a relatively tough one for the Bengals QB. However, he’ll still have a good chance to put up some good fantasy numbers.
The Bengals are coming off of a bye week and have had a significant amount of time to scout and prep for the Patriots’ defense. Through three games so far this season, Dalton has a combined 43 fantasy points (just over 14 a game), and although his fantasy numbers haven’t been overly exceptional, he has been very solid. Perhaps one of Dalton’s most valuable stats so far this year is that he has only thrown one interception. He takes care of the ball and finds ways to utilize his weapons, including superstar receiver A.J. Green.
Dalton will be going up against a Patriots defense that has been better than any team in the NFL against the pass. New England’s defense is allowing just 185.5 pass yards per game. Their schedule hasn’t been very demanding thus far, and the Bengals will definitely be their toughest matchup this season. Overall, I think Dalton will have a good outing against the Patriots. His numbers won’t be exceptional, but given that this offense will be the best New England has faced along with the fact that Cincy has had ample time to prepare and scheme against their defense, I think Dalton will be able to take advantage and put up a good fantasy week.
Final prediction: 225-250 pass yards, two touchdowns, one interception, 15 total fantasy points
