Week 5 Fantasy Football: Be Patient With WR Demaryius Thomas

Denver Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas was a consensus top-three wideout in all fantasy football drafts this summer. He racked up over 2,800 yards with 24 touchdowns in two seasons with QB Peyton Manning and the duo has built a very strong rapport together over the past few seasons.

Unfortunately, Thomas hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype this fantasy season.

In three games this season, Thomas hasn’t amassed more than 62 receiving yards in a single game. Thomas has also caught just one touchdown this year, which is hard to look at considering New York Giants TE Larry Donnell caught three touchdowns in a single game last Thursday night.

The bottom line is that DT has watched the majority of his touchdowns end up in the hands of Julius Thomas. The tight end is leading the entire team with five receiving touchdowns and his presence downfield has been greatly impacted the weekly value of the All-Pro wideout. Luckily, defenses will now start to game plan to contain the superstar tight end. He will be seeing more and more attention downfield, which will only allow his receiver counterpart more space to work with.

Thomas still has plenty of time to make up for his slow start, and I have complete faith that he will end the year with over 1,200 yards and 10 TDs. He is the ultimate buy-low trade target right now; so try to get your hands on him before he starts filling up the box score on a weekly basis.
