15 Bold Predictions for Fantasy Football Week 7

Week to week, we see surprises in the NFL. That's what makes fantasy football so much fun -- things rarely go according to plan. Sometimes, it's a big breakout player, and other times it's the fall of a legend. This week we'll see the continuation of that pattern.

In two games since filling in for the string of injured San Diego Chargers, Oliver, an undrafted rookie, has scored three times. It's rare to see a fill-in player succeed as he has, but he's embodied the No. 43 Darren Sproles once wore as a Charger. But Oliver will reign over a rather stout Kansas City Chiefs run defense this week.

The reigning Super Bowl champs have been exposed twice now. They're visiting the St. Louis Rams, where Austin Davis has been quite a remarkable player to watch. While Seattle will come out with a win, Davis will pop three touchdowns for the third time this season. If you're needing a sleeper QB, he's one to look out for.

The Dallas Cowboys' defense has seen a vast improvement this season from last. But their stout appearance mostly comes from their pass defense. They're allowing more yards per carry than they were last season and I expect Tom Coughlin to exploit that. With the loss of Victor Cruz especially, the New York Giants will be very aggressive running the ball.

Kyle Orton has filled in for E.J. Manuel well so far. He's coming off an impressive game with two TDs and nearly 300 yards against a top 10 New England Patriots defense. Orton is now going against an even tougher Minnesota Vikings defense, but Orton has something working for him right now with his receivers.

11. Eric Decker adds another TD

Decker hasn't been very healthy and still has some lingering problems with his hamstring. But if he proved anything last week, it's that he can still play through pain. In the past two games he's played, he's seen 10 targets each respectively, and has also scored a touchdown. He's the best thing the Jets have going right now -- why stop now?

Coach Mike Smith said he was going to increase Smith's workload last week and he delivered, somewhat. After he scored for the fifth time this season, his coach has to really amp it up this week with more confidence. With more touches, I'm expecting him to have both a receiving and rushing score this week -- quite the play by a player undrafted in virtually every league.

9. Mark Ingram returns with two TDs

Is Ingram 100 percent ready? He says so. While that doesn't mean he's playing for sure, if he is, he should be returning with tenacity. The New Orleans Saints will be working without Jimmy Graham, so they'll be relying on the entire offense to compensate for that loss. Khiry Robinson should be getting the most touches, but Ingram will be opportunistic and score twice against the Detroit Lions.

Connecting to my upcoming prediction of Derek Carr, the usually productive Arizona Cardinals' defense will falter against the Oakland Raiders this week. Carr will be working the defense for all it's worth and don't expect a sporadic special teams touchdown this week, either. The Cards will be allowing over 30 points this week without little else in return against an 0-5 team.

By "replace" I mean Hill will find the end zone through Drew Brees. I think it's certainly possible Hill scores multiple times, but he'll be getting limited targets compared to the rest of the team. The targets will be spread out enough, though, and the backup TE will be found in a red-zone situation and connect for a TD.

Last week, Derek Carr gave a good scare to San Diego Chargers fans, throwing four touchdowns in a loss. The Chargers have been a stout crew this season, so Carr's esteem has to be pretty high right now. Working off a coaching change, things should be looking up for the rookie QB. He could throw two more pairs of TDs this week with Andre Holmes and crew working so well.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are struggling quite a bit. It's an unwritten rule to pickup or start the defense facing them, and that's worked so far for owners. But at some point, that needs to end. Call it just intuition -- Jags will get their run game going here and give the Browns a run for their money.

Jason Witten has been a mainstay for fantasy owners for years. But he's been struggling a bit in recent weeks until connecting for a touchdown against the Seahawks last week. The Cowboys are going to abandon the run game at some point and Tony Romo will look for his longtime buddy Witten more often.

3. Tony Romo enjoys four TDs

Bouncing off the Witten prediction, Romo will enjoy a four-touchdown performance, as I expect the Dallas Cowboys to adjust their play calling this week in a game against the rival New York Giants. This game seems to always be a shootout and that will certainly come at the arm of Romo.

2. DeMarco Murray falls short of history

Of course, if the Cowboys are going to limit their run game, they'll also be limiting Murray's production. He's already tied Jim Brown for most consecutive games to start a season with 100 or more rushing yards, and I don't think he can break that record this week. But he will get some looks from Romo in the passing game to throw the Giants off guard.

Manning only needs three touchdowns to break Brett Favre's career passing touchdowns record. He's been very productive this season, but he's going against a San Francisco 49ers defense hungry to show their dominance again. Manning will tie the record this week, but he won't be able to push it over the edge this week.
