Running back Chris Ivory had somewhat of a letdown last week when it came to his fantasy value. All throughout the season for the most part, Ivory has delivered a steady amount of fantasy points much to the rejoice of owners everywhere. Last week was a totally different story, though, as he only contributed about seven yards against the Denver Broncos. What should fantasy owners expect out of Ivory this week considering he was phased out last week?
Considering the New York Jets play a short week after losing to the Broncos and then playing the New England Patriots on Thursday, there is much work to get done for the Jets and their offensive problems. They should be able to reassess themselves and understand that if they want to have a shot at beating the Patriots, they must run the football. That is where Ivory comes into the picture and returns back to the fantasy football spotlight.
Expect a bounce back kind of a game by Ivory in this huge Week 7 matchup. Fantasy owners should absolutely have him in their lineup as an RB2 option and possibly even an RB1 depending on what other running backs they have. Since the Jets can’t pass the football, they will turn to one of their more productive contributors on offense in Ivory to help give them a fighting chance.
Overall, Ivory should be seeing plenty of reps coming his way against the Patriots. Considering he also doubles up as a dual-threat since he is also good at receiving, this could potentially be one of his better games of the season. Don’t let last week fool you; even if the Jets lose this week, Ivory should still be able to score a nice amount of fantasy points.
