Ben Tate Fantasy Football Week 7 Projection

Ben Tate Start or Sit Fantasy Football Week 6

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

After a solid Week 1 performance cut short by a knee injury, Ben Tate‘s fantasy owners were extremely upset as they drafted him early, thinking he would finish as a top-10 back in fantasy. It didn’t look good for the next few weeks either as rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell performed tremendously in Tate’s absence.

Despite the play of the rookies, Tate returned two weeks ago and he made it clear who the No. 1 running back for the Cleveland Browns is going forward.

Since returning from injury, Tate has carried the football 47 times for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers have been good enough for a total of 31 fantasy points. The Browns love running the football because it makes things easier for Brian Hoyer to go through his progressions and complete passes against single coverage. Although Tate carried the football 25 times last week, the Browns as a team carried the ball 38 times.

This team is committed to running the football, and that should be music to the ears of Tate owners.

Going forward, Tate will have a favorable matchup in Week 7 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Currently, the Jaguars are giving up the 25th-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Although Tate is only probable for the game as he still has the knee injury, I think he will play and he will be in for a big day. The Browns will have the chance to end the weekend with a 4-2 record, and Tate will be the x-factor.

Week 7 fantasy football projection: 22 carries for 139 rushing yards and a touchdown.
