Jordy Nelson Fantasy Football Week 7 Projection
If you own Jordy Nelson, you are reveling in the fact that he is putting up amazing numbers. As the NFL’s leading receiver, he is a must-start and will have another great game this week.
Nelson has scored five touchdowns in his last five games, including two in Week 4. He is on pace for nearly 1,700 yards and 13 touchdowns. In order for Nelson to achieve these numbers, he must stay healthy. Nelson has had his fair share of injuries, and with the amount of injuries already on record this season, fantasy owners can’t afford to lose another player.
Aaron Rodgers is consistently targeting Nelson every chance he gets. In last week’s game, Rodgers targeted Nelson 16 times and he caught nine of them. This was the second time this season Rodgers targeted him 16 times. Nelson has a total of 68 targets so far this season, on pace for 181 targets and 114 receptions.
The Green Bay Packers and Nelson welcome in the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers defense isn’t the tough unit it was last year. The team has allowed 24.2 fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers, sixth-most in the league.
Nelson is now a must-start every week and his matchup proof. Regardless of his opponent, you need to start Nelson and this week is no exception. The Packers offense will enjoy this poor defense and feast like a king. Rodgers will target Nelson early and often. Expect Nelson to catch eight passes for 93 yards and one touchdown (15 points in standard leagues, 23 in PPR).
