The Houston Texans have had a nice bounce-back season from 2013, which was certainly one to forget, resulting in having the No. 1 overall pick in the draft this past offseason. One of the main reasons for the Texans’ turnaround is that Arian Foster is having a very good campaign. Despite having a lingering hamstring injury that cost him one game this season against the New York Giants, he has been excellent this season.
Foster has been a staple of the first round of fantasy football drafts for years, but lately with a lot of injuries the past few years, he has slipped a bit. This season, however, Foster is playing like a RB1 and a player who was deserving of being selected in the first round of fantasy drafts.
In 2014, Foster has 513 yards rushing on 106 carries with five rushing touchdowns. In the receiving game, Foster has also done pretty well, catching 16 passes for 131 yards.
The once vaunted Pittsburgh Steelers‘ defense this season has not been that with age and injuries. Facing the run, the Steelers are 16th in the league in total rushing yards, allowing 4.4 yards per carry. Last week in a 31-10 loss to the Cleveland Browns, the Steelers had little success trying to stop the run. The Browns ran it 38 times as a team for 158 yards with three touchdowns on the ground from Ben Tate and Isaiah Crowell combined.
Houston is without a doubt a run-first offense, and Foster can be a workhorse for his team, He will likely be asked to do just that against the Steelers, which will lead to a very good day for fantasy owners this week.
Projection: 100 yards, one touchdown
