Justin Forsett Fantasy Football Week 7 Projection
The Atlanta Falcons’ front seven has been equivalent to that of a wet paper towel when it comes to defending against opposing RBs this year. They rank dead last in fantasy points per game (27.5), total rushes (174), rushing yards (767), touchdowns (11) and receptions (41). This week they take their miserably awful talents to Baltimore to take on the Ravens and their three-headed rushing monster of Justin Forsett, Bernard Pierce, and Lorenzo Taliaferro.
Forsett has been the head of this monster, carving out a more prevalent role over Pierce and Taliaferro in the running and passing game this season. The past two weeks Pierce has been his only competition, but relinquished any such pressure after a dud performance in Week 6. In addition to Taliaferro’s barely noticeable production the past two games, it looks like Forsett will be on the receiving end of a larger workload in Week 7.
The boost in work couldn’t come at a better time for fantasy football owners since Forsett comes into this very favorable matchup toting an NFL best (minimum 40 carries) 6.4 YPC and at least six fantasy points in every game this season. The seventh year veteran from California, along with DeMarco Murray, Giovani Bernard, Marshawn Lynch, and Le’veon Bell are the only RBs to have at least six fantasy points in every game so far.
Forsett owners should enjoy his Top Ten Fantasy RB production on Sunday as he tears up Atlanta’s lackluster defense. I highly doubt QB Joe Flacco will rack up five touchdown passes again, so expect Forsett to enter the end zone at least one time on the ground and who knows, maybe one time through the air as well, considering he ranks fourth among all RBs with 23 total receptions.
Forsett has certainly earned RB1 recognition in all formatted leagues this week. He has the eighth most fantasy points among all RBs, so there should be no reason why he’s on your bench in Week 7.
Fantasy Forecast: 16 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown. Four receptions for 26 yards.
