Reggie Bush Fantasy Football Week 7 Projection

After sitting out last week with an ankle injury, Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush is probable for this Sunday’s home game against the New Orleans Saints.

Bush returned to practice this week and should be ready to go for fantasy football owners against his former team. Bush will look to play his best against the Saints, the place where he spent the first five years of his career. The good news is that the Saints defense has been atrocious this season, giving up the third most fantasy points to opposing running backs.

The bad news, however, is that third string running back Theo Riddick had a big game last week, which coupled with the return of Joique Bell will likely limit Bush’s overall touches. Head coach Jim Caldwell will likely use all three running backs making it highly unlikely that Bush scores a lot of fantasy points this week.

Bush has failed to live up to the expectations that many had for him before the start of the season. Through five games, Bush has never had more than 12 carries or 61 yards in a single game, and that was when he was the only healthy option at running back.

Despite the fact that Bush wants to perform against his former team, it appears that coach Caldwell just doesn’t have enough faith in Bush to play him like the number one option he was brought in to be. A trio of healthy running backs and his return from injury will prevent Bush from having a big impact in this game.

Week 7 Fantasy Projection: 7 carries for 34 yards, 3 receptions for 18 yards, 0 TDs
