Predicting Week 8's Top 10 Fantasy WRs

The Calvin Johnson injury has certainly put the top-end of wide receiver rankings in-flux. He’s a top-five player if he’s playing, but there’s a huge risk if he’s not at 100 percent and there’s also the fact that he might not play. Given that, he’s not going to be on this list looking at who should be the top 10 receivers in fantasy this week. (Note: Thursday players have not been included.)

As the Packers offense is really hitting its stride, it’s not surprising that Cobb has been putting in solid work. Against the Saints in the dome, that shouldn’t be something that’s going to change in week 8.

Hilton has been the best receiver on arguably the best offense in the NFL right now. He’s not just been a big-play guy, but also a workhorse and a fantastic all-around player. He should be able to get open against a depleted Steelers secondary.

8. Dez Bryant

There’s no doubt that Dez is one of the best receivers in the league and that he’s virtually matchup proof. However, I’m just not sure if the workload is going to be there like it normally is for him against Washington. Romo and Dallas should be able to throw at will, which could mean big plays for guys like Terrence Williams and slightly less work for Bryant.

7. Mike Wallace

Wallace has pretty quietly been a more-than-solid fantasy receiver this season and the most reliable option in the Dolphins passing game. Against the lowly Jaguars, Wallace should be in for a nice day.

6. Andre Johnson

The Texans haven’t been able to find the veteran wideout in the endzone really this season, but this could be the week against a Titans pass defense that can’t really stop anyone consistently. With someone that’s as dominant as Johnson can be, he could have a nice day at the yard.

5. A.J. Green

Green seems like he’s going to play coming off of an injury and, if he does, he’s one of the top plays of the week. The Ravens defense is definitely good, but Green is just a monster and the struggling Bengals offense will be looking to get him involved to try and get rolling.

4. Jeremy Maclin

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Eagles and Cardinals find themselves in a shootout on Sunday. If that’s the case, expect Maclin to be targeted often and to do quite a bit with those targets.

3. Antonio Brown

Brown has arguably been the best receiver in the league, especially for fantasy, this season. He’s going to produce in seemingly every week and he should be able to have success against the Indy defense, even if the Colts are looking good on that side of the ball right now.

2. Golden Tate

Tate has been a solid play due to the Calvin Johnson injury in recent weeks. Johnson being in-flux makes this a difficult ranking, but it’s also not a huge change even if Megatron is playing. The Falcons defense is a hot mess right now and Tate should be able to burn them time and again.

Remember what we said about Cobb and the Packers offense? That also goes for Nelson, except that he might be the best receiver that not nearly enough people are talking about this season. That seems like a good recipe in week 8.
