Basketball has changed over the past few years in regards to player positions. There are more hybrid players these days instead of true "traditional" players. For example, it was much easier 20 years ago to list true PFs such as Karl Malone and Charles Barkley. These days, there are more PFs who double-up as centers as well. This list will focus on the top 15 fantasy PFs whose primary position is PF.

After failing with his bid to secure an offer sheet as a restricted free agent, Greg Monroe ended up re-signing with the Pistons on a one-year deal. This may not seem to bode well for his fantasy potential since the Detroit frontcourt is loaded with budding superstar Andre Drummond and Josh Smith. However, Monroe was in this situation last year and still averaged 15.2 PPG and 9.3 RPG. His numbers may go down, but not by much.
14. Zach Randolph - Memphis Grizzlies

The days of Z-Bo being an automatic 20-10 player are gone, but that doesn't mean he's no longer a fantasy asset. Last year, he averaged 17.4 PPG and 10.1 RPG. However, and unfortunately, this is where Randolph's value ends. He doesn't produce enough in the defensive categories to warrant being selected higher than the middle rounds of your draft. Regardless, he's still a double-double machine and that won't change this season.
13. Jared Sullinger - Boston Celtics

The former Ohio State star is one of my personal favorites to have a breakout year and become a full-fledged double-double machine on a nightly basis. Last season, Sullinger averaged 13.3 PPG and 8.1 RPG, but shot poorly with a 43 FG percentage. For this season, Sully has lost weight and appears to be taking his game to the next level. Don't be surprised when he averages 16 PPG, 11 RPG and 1.0 STLPG while shooting 48 percent.
12. Pau Gasol - Chicago Bulls

Last year, on a poor Lakers team riddled with major injuries, Gasol proved that he can still put up extremely solid numbers for a big man, especially in the assists department. His averages of 17.4 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 3.4 APG and 1.5 BLKPG were very good last year. His scoring is sure to take a hit this season now that he's on a talent-rich Chicago Bulls team. However, he should still be a double-double threat every night that he plays.
11. Dirk Nowitzki - Dallas Mavericks

After a disappointing 2012-13 season, the former league and NBA Finals MVP redeemed himself last season. He averaged 21.7 PPG, 6.2 RPG and 1.6 threes per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free throw line. Even though he's slowing down at age 36 and Dallas has added Chandler Parsons to the team, Nowitzki will still be a viable option. His scoring will take a hit though, and this lowers his value.
10. David Lee - Golden State Warriors

The former Florida Gator has basically been a double-double machine for his entire career with an outstanding FG percentage. Last season, he stayed true to that statement by averaging 18.2 PPG and 9.3 RPG while shooting 52 percent from the field. There's no reason for Lee not to continue doing what he's already done for the 2014-15 season. Any expectation for him averaging 17.5 PPG and 10 RPG is a fair one.
9. Kenneth Faried - Denver Nuggets

The Manimal is an extremely athletic forward, and his athleticism translates very well in the fantasy game. This was evident during the second half of last season when he averaged 18.8 PPG, 10.1 RPG and 1.1 STLPG while shooting an impressive 55-percent from the field. For the 2014-15 season, Faried has a great chance of producing those excellent second-half numbers for the entire season. He is a superstar in the making.
8. Paul Millsap - Atlanta Hawks

After finally getting an opportunity to be a full-time starter, Paul Millsap produced numbers that most fantasy basketball players knew he was capable of. With averages of 17.9 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 3.1 APG, 1.7 STLPG, 1.1 BLKPG and one three-pointer per game, he more than made his owners happy last year. While it's unknown how much his scoring may reduce with Al Horford back, he should be able to produce similar numbers this year.
7. Thaddeus Young - Minnesota Timberwolves

Thad Young is one of those players who's a true hybrid, but he should see more time at PF for the Timberwolves with Kevin Love gone and Andrew Wiggins set to take over the SF spot. In a similar situation with the Philadelphia 76ers last year, Young produced 17.9 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 2.1 STLPG and 1.1 3-pointers per game. In Minnesota, he will most likely be the top offensive option and should be a lock to duplicate his 2013-14 numbers.
6. Chris Bosh - Miami Heat

No LeBron James means that Chris Bosh will return to producing numbers similar to what he did when he was with the Toronto Raptors. This means that owners that draft him should realistically expect at least 20 PPG, 10 RPG and 1.0 BLKPG while shooting close to 50 percent from the field. He's also a career 80 percent free throw shooter, which only helps to solidify Bosh's return to being one of the top fantasy PFs.
5. Kevin Love - Cleveland Cavaliers

Kevin Love's arrival in Cleveland to form the new "Big 3" with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving will definitely diminish the potential for him to repeat his 2013-14 averages of 26.1 PPG, 12.5 RPG, 4.4 APG and 2.5 three-pointers a game. However, while his points and rebounds may go down a little, his FG percentage should see an improvement. Love may not be a top-five fantasy player any more, but he's still a top-five fantasy PF.
4. LaMarcus Aldridge - Portland Trail Blazers

LaMarcus Aldridge is a very safe and consistent PF to select for your team. Last year he averaged 23.2 PPG, 11.1 RPG and 1.0 BLKPG while shooting 82 percent from the free throw line. Not much has changed for him within the landscape of the Portland Trail Blazers' offensive plans. Therefore, he should repeat what he did last year with the potential of improving his block numbers. You can't go wrong with him.
3. Blake Griffin - Los Angeles Clippers

The "Blake Show" was in full effect last season as he averaged 24.1 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 3.9 APG and 1.2 STLPG while shooting 53 percent from the field. The main improvement that Griffin showed last season was his improved free throw shooting. He is a career 64 percent shooter, but significantly improved it to 72 percent last year. If his improvement remains consistent, then you're looking at a top-20 fantasy player overall.
2. Serge Ibaka - Oklahoma City Thunder

With Kevin Durant out for at least 20 games, Ibaka's production will see a nice increase this season. His averages last year of 15.1 PPG, 8.8 RPG and an elite 2.7 BLKPG were very good, and he has steadily improved every season. For 2014-15, he should start putting up double-doubles on a nightly basis along with his elite shot blocking and great percentages. Owners should expect 18 PPG, 11 RPG and over 3.0 BLKPG.
1. Anthony Davis - New Orleans Pelicans

Considering the fact that "The Brow" is only 21 years old, his production in only two years in the NBA is amazing. Last year, he averaged 20.8 PPG, 10 RPG, 2.8 BLKPG and 1.3 STLPG while shooting 52 percent from the field and 79 percent from the free throw line. The scary part about Davis is that he is still improving and will continue to for several years. He's the clear No. 1 fantasy PF and possibly the No. 1 player overall.
