Fantasy Football Week 9 Start or Sit: Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings is headed to the end of the road when it comes to his fantasy stock value. The Minnesota Vikings‘ wide receiver has shown a few glimpses of rekindling the magic he had when he first got into the NFL, but hasn’t done much lately to contribute big fantasy points to owners everywhere. Should fantasy owners start or sit Jennings as he faces the Washington Redskins in Week 9 action?

Considering Jennings only has two touchdowns for the season, he’s clearly not worth a spot in fantasy lineups. Owners should consider sitting him this week because the Redskins’ defense has the capability of shutting him down completely.

With just 29 receptions so far this season for 383 yards, it’s a safe bet that Jennings won’t really break out in this matchup against the Redskins. Whether it’s due to the quarterback issues on the Vikings or the fact that he looks like he lost a step, stay away from him this week.

Though everyone thinks he can go back to his glory days he experienced back on the Green Bay Packers, the truth of the matter is that he’s nowhere near the same player. He used to be one of the fastest receivers in the league who made big plays when his number was called, but things have dramatically changed for the worst. Jennings is a player on the decline in real life, and his fantasy value will do the same on a weekly basis.

If you have Jennings on your fantasy football team, don’t waste your time hoping for a huge game by the once-promising receiver. For his Week 9 game against the Redskins, he should be riding the bench in fantasy lineups everywhere.
