10 Fantasy Football Players You Should Give Up On

It is halfway through the fantasy season, and while you may have found some diamonds in the rough late in the draft, there have been some high draft picks who have been disappointing all season long. With plenty of good bargains out there, these 10 players are worth giving up on right now.

Eifert has not played a meaningful snap since being injured in Week 1 against Baltimore. Even if he comes back, don't expect much from him with the emergence of both Jeremy Hill and Mohamed Sanu for the Bengals.

Pierce was expected to carry the load for Baltimore after Ray Rice's release, but the only significant place where Pierce has been is on the bench. Pierce has been deactivated for three games this season and has lost his starting job to Justin Forsett. He did have two short rushing touchdowns in Week 6 and Week 7, but Pierce hasn't even hit the double-digit mark once this season.

After being signed away from Minnesota, Toby Gerhart was taken as high as the second round in some drafts but has been a fantasy bust this season. Gerhart has already lost his job to Denard Robinson and backup carries to Storm Johnson, a seventh-round rookie. Gerhart has only one rushing touchdown all season and hasn't reached double-digits in any game this season. He has also had zero touches in two games this year.

Outside of an 18-point performance in Week 1 against St. Louis, Cordarrelle Patterson has been one of the biggest receiver busts this season. Hurt by the loss of Adrian Peterson and having to play with three different quarterbacks this season, Patterson has only one receiving touchdown and doesn't even have a game with over 90 receiving yards.
6. Doug Martin

The days of Doug Martin as a viable fantasy back are over. The former first-round pick has already missed four games this season with injury and has lost his starting job to Bobby Rainey. When he was healthy, Martin had zero games with at least 75 all-purpose yards and only has scored once all season.

Zac Stacy was drafted as high as the first round in some fantasy leagues, and now he isn't even the starting running back for his own team. Stacy was an overrated fantasy back to begin with and proved that with his performance so far this year. Stacy only has one touchdown this season and has just two games with double-digit fantasy points. He has also had four games with five fantasy points or fewer.

Following an early fumble against Seattle, Montee Ball has been a favorite in John Fox's doghouse. The former Wisconsin back was expected to be a top-notch fantasy back alongside Peyton Manning, but he can't even get on the field after a mid-season groin injury. During his absence, Ronnie Hillman has emerged as a reliable fantasy back, which means that Ball will likely be irrelevant when he finally returns from injury.
3. Andre Johnson

Someday Andre Johnson will be enshrined in Canton, but his 2014 season has been one to forget. Now the No. 2 receiver behind DeAndre Hopkins, Johnson has been a non-factor for the Texans. Johnson has only one touchdown this season and has recorded only one double-digit fantasy game. Since a 99-yard, one touchdown day against the Colts in Week 6, Johnson has declining receiving yards in each of the last three games (77, 55, 12).

Reggie Bush has not been healthy all season, and when he has been, he's done absolutely nothing this year. Behind a porous offensive line, Bush has only one double-digit fantasy day (15 points against Green Bay in Week 3) and has scored only one touchdown all season. Bush has also not recorded a 100-yard all-purpose game and has five games with less than 50 yards rushing.

With John Brown's emergence this season, Michael Floyd has seen his fantasy numbers decline rapidly. Floyd has not reached the 50-yard receiving mark since Week 3 and has only scored twice this season. With Larry Fitzgerald also coming back to form, Floyd will be the odd man out the rest of the way.
