Fantasy Football Week 10 Waiver Wire: Allen Hurns
After hauling in 110 yards and two touchdowns in the opening game of the season, Jacksonville Jaguars WR Allen Hurns was instantly added in fantasy football leagues all over the country. The wideout was the number one waiver wire pickup that week and many had big plans for the rookie route runner.
Unfortunately, Hurns disappeared for a couple of weeks this fall. Between Weeks 5-7, Hurns caught only six balls for 51 total yards (17 yards/game). He was starting to be fazed out of the offense and was on the verge of losing his job, so naturally many impatient fantasy owners cut ties with the youngster.
Luckily, Hurns finally had another big outing in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He ended the day with seven grabs for 122 yards and two touchdowns. It was his second 100-yard game of the season and it was a career game for the rookie.
QB Blake Bortles hasn’t transitioned as well as most would have thought, as he has 13 picks on the year. He has also thrown just eight touchdowns on the year, but shockingly Hurns has caught four of them. The Jags will always be playing from behind and Hurns will continue to see receptions/ targets in garbage time week after week.
Hurns is the third wideout on the team, so he will be a streaky week-to-week play, but he will still be worth adding as a WR5/ WR6 this week in deeper formats.
