The time is almost here.

One of the NFL‘s elite receivers is set to make his return in three weeks after a 10-game suspension for the Cleveland Browns and he will provide an immediate offensive spark.

This is the same man that finished last season as the league leader in receiving yards with 1,646 to go along with nine touchdowns, and he actually missed two games due to a suspension. During his incredible run last year, he scorched the Pittsburgh Steelers with 14 catches for 237 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 12.

He then followed it up with 10 catches for 261 yards and two touchdowns against the Jacksonville Jagauars. This was the first time in NFL history that a WR had back-to-back 200-yard receiving games and he would eventually get voted to his first Pro Bowl. Considering the fact that he’s only 23 years old, the future couldn’t be any brighter for Josh Gordon.

Unfortunately, due to his apparent love of marijuana, Gordon was suspended for the entire 2014-15 season. However, his suspension was shortened to the point where he gets to miss 10 games and he has currently missed seven. Therefore, this is the time to strike and make a waiver claim on Gordon regardless of how deep or shallow your league may be.

First off, there are many fantasy owners that drafted Gordon around the 10th round of their drafts with the hopes that they’ve built a strong enough team to where they can wait on his return. For example, Gordon is owned in 58.2 percent of ESPN leagues and 65 percent of Yahoo leagues. Therefore, there’s a good chance that he’s not available in your respective league.

However, if he is, you must make an immediate claim or FAAB bid for him since he’s the type of player who can single-handedly win a championship for your team. If it’s a league with default scoring, then he can produce plenty of yardage points. If it’s a PPR league, then add around seven to 10 points on top of the yardage production he will generate, and you can’t forget about the touchdowns either.

For the remainder of the Browns’ schedule when Gordon returns, they face the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers and the Baltimore Ravens. Out of those teams, only the Colts have a positive pass coverage rating and that means an abundance of fantasy goodness for Gordon.

Currently, based on his career production rates, Gordon projects to catch 30 balls for 544 yards and three TDs over the six games he will play this season. This puts him in immediate WR1 territory as there aren’t many WRs that have the same type of elite production potential as him.

Therefore, if Flash Gordon is somehow still available in your fantasy league, please do yourself a huge favor and claim him. I guarantee that he will be on many championship teams by the end of the fantasy football season.
