Thus far, the 2014 fantasy football season has seen a significant star turnover. The usual suspects of A.J. Green, Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson have been unseated by a slew of promising, young playmakers. Here are the top 10 candidates to break out in the second half of the fantasy football season.

10. Jarvis Landry

If you saw Jarvis Landry’s tight roping touchdown last week, you would know how bright the future is for this rookie. His 30 catches through the first half of the season should more than double. Landry will take advantage of every defense that considers him merely an afterthought to Mike Wallace.

John Carlson logged his first touchdown on Sunday, and should see more of the end zone in the coming weeks as defenses try to slow down other segments of the Arizona Cardinals' offense. Don’t forget, Carlson was a very productive tight end in 2008 and 2009 with the Seattle Seahawks, and will be key to the success of the Cardinals down the stretch.

Now that Nick Foles has been ruled out for at least the next six weeks, it’s Mark Sanchez's time in Philly. Unlike his days in New York, Sanchez will take the reins of one of the league’s most high-powered offenses. With the likes of LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Jeremy Maclin and Zach Ertz at his disposal, Sanchez stands a good chance to succeed.

Get this: even though Malcom Floyd has 19 fewer catches than the Chargers’ leading receptor, he leads the team in receiving yards. If you are in need of some firepower at the wide receiver position, take a look at the waiver wire. Floyd is owned in only 41 percent of Yahoo.com leagues.

6. Jerick McKinnon

Jerick McKinnon has filled the void left by Adrian Peterson as best as he can, averaging an astounding five yards per carry. The only thing the Minnesota Vikings’ leading rusher hasn’t done yet is reaching the end zone, although last week he came painfully close. If you’ve got the rookie stashed on your bench, consider giving him a start in Week 12 against a Green Bay Packers rush defense that currently ranks last in the league.

Speaking of running backs, here is a guy who has made the transition from college passer to pro ball carrier. There is no doubt that Denard Robinson is capable in the backfield — in the past three games, he has racked up 329 yards rushing. The more Blake Bortles struggles, the more the Jacksonville Jaguars will be inclined to utilize the talents of Robinson on the ground.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ leading receiver has been hot lately, scoring four touchdowns in as many games. It’s clear that he is the future of the Tampa Bay passing game. Look for the Buccaneers to continue targeting Mike Evans more than the veteran Vincent Jackson in order to further groom Evans into the primary receiver role in the event that Jackson departs this offseason.

Here’s another rookie wideout who has been coming of age in recent weeks. Odell Beckham Jr. has notched 12 receptions for 190 yards and a pair of scores in the past two games; it’s safe to say that he’s becoming a favorite target of Eli Manning. The New York Giants will continue to lean on him heavily with Victor Cruz out for the year.

2. Jonas Gray

You probably haven't heard much about this guy, but the Patriots aren’t holding back with the 225-pound bruiser. Gray has assumed the power running role in the absence of Stevan Ridley, earning 29 carries in the past two games. It doesn’t matter how well Tom Brady is playing; the Patriots need a strong run game to maintain balance in the offense and slow down pass rushes.

It’s not very often that you come across a player with double-digit receptions who has scored a touchdown on every other catch. As long as Big Ben stays hot, Martavis Bryant will continue to reap the benefits of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ high-flying passing attack. He has owned in only 43 percent of Yahoo.com leagues, so you would be foolish to not check the waiver wire for Bryant.
