Eddie Lacy Fantasy Football Week 10 Projection
The Green Bay Packers have one of the most potent passing attacks in the entire NFL, and when it comes to fantasy football production, that’s the type of thing that can lead to points in bunches. Of course, with most teams that means that the running game suffers, but after a slow start in 2014, RB Eddie Lacy has cemented his name as one of the must-start backs in the league, and that trend should continue in Week 10.
Lacy came into the year as the primary focus in the Packers’ backfield, and the team stuck with him despite a start of the season that saw him rush for just 113 yards over the first three games combined. Although he has just one 100-yard outing on the year, he’ll get a chance to continue his recent resurgence against the Chicago Bears in prime time on Sunday.
The Bears haven’t allowed an opposing rusher to break the 100-yard mark all year, allowing just over 110 yards per game, so on paper this looks like a bad matchup. However, last week against the New Orleans Saints, Lacy was featured in the passing game, racking up eight catches for 123 yards. Although Lacy is normally good for just 12-14 carries each week and the Bears can still get after rushers, if Aaron Rodgers is given some time and gets the ball in Lacy’s hands, big things could follow.
History may not be on Lacy’s side in this matchup, but Week 10 is no time to overthink your matchups. Now that he’s comfortable in his role as the featured back, you should expect some strong production this weekend, whether it comes on the ground or through the air.
Projection – 15 carries, 70 yards, 1 TD. 3 receptions, 40 yards.
