Fantasy Football Week 10: Start or Sit Fred Jackson

fred jackson, fantasy football week 10 prediction

Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills, and fantasy football fans, received great news this morning, as they learned that Fred Jackson would be healthy enough to play. Jackson was hurt in week seven against the Minnesota Vikings, then missed the following game before the bye last week.

Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown carried the load in Jackson’s absence during the week eight dismantle of the New York Jets, however, the win had hardly anything to do with the ground game. Dixon had just 44 yards and Brown had just 17 yards.

Jackson, the eighth-year veteran, has not rushed for more than 60 yards since Week 1, as he has split carries with C.J. Spiller, who is now done for the year after getting injured in week seven as well. Jackson will likely start today’s game on the sidelines, but should expect to see the bulk of touches because of his versatility as a runner and pass catcher out of the backfield.

Although the Bills will be relishing Jackson’s return, the passing game may need to be utilized much more if there’s any chance to win. Buffalo faces the Kansas City Chiefswho have not allowed a touchdown to an opposing running back on the ground or through the air. The Chiefs have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs and are allowing the third-fewest points to running backs per game.

Even if Jackson is truly 100 percent for today’s game and sees most of the touches out of the backfield, don’t expect him to have a breakout performance. Kansas City’s defensive front is for real, and although they are on the road, defenses always travel. Jackson should stay right where he has been for the last two weeks, which is on your fantasy bench.
