It’s time once again for the annual prime time showdown between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. Even though Peyton Manning has been gone for three years and is blazing new trails with the Denver Broncos, Andrew Luck has taken the reins and run with them, and now he finds himself on a record-setting pace as he prepares to face off against Manning’s old rivals Bill Belichick and Tom Brady in Week 11.

From a fantasy perspective, if you own Luck, you’re obviously on cloud nine this year. If you’ve faced a team that owns him, well, you probably lost. Luck has thrown for over 300 yards in eight of his nine games so far this year, and has thrown for three or more touchdowns in six. Simply put, he’s a fantasy scoring machine with weapons everywhere, from T.Y. Hilton to Reggie Wayne to Dwayne Allen. He might have even thrown a touchdown or two on the Colts’ bye week while he was at it.

When Brady leads the Patriots to the Circle City for the Sunday night battle, fireworks are sure to fly. Rumors of the Patriots’ demise were obviously greatly exaggerated, and their defense is no pushover. New England ranks 14th in the NFL against the pass, allowing just 235.1 yards per game through the air.

Really, though, the first truly potent passing offense the Patriots faced all year was – you got it – Manning and the Broncos. Two weeks ago, Manning went off for 438 yards and two touchdowns. Yes, most of that production came after New England opened up a fairly sizable lead, but from a fantasy perspective, points are points, and the Colts go as Luck goes. Luck has thrown his share of interceptions this year (nine), but if nothing else, his sheer passing volume (a league-leading 393 attempts) has more than offset any penalties that may incur in your scoring system.

At the end of the day, Luck is cementing his place as a fantasy superstar, and he shouldn’t be slowed too much against the Patriots. Start him and allow the points to roll in.

Week 11 Projection: 27-for-36, 310 yards, 3 TD
