Fantasy Football Week 11 Sleeper: Jordan Matthews

Jordan Matthews Eagles

Rookie wide receivers have been all the rage lately in the NFL and are making a major impact on fantasy football this season. The Philadelphia Eagles have a potentially special rookie wide receiver in Jordan Matthews out of Vanderbilt. Matthews has put together a decent fantasy season, but has really emerged as of late and has sleeper potential in Week 11.

The Eagles will travel to face a Green Bay Packers team that is banged up in the secondary and certainly nothing to be afraid of defensively. Matthews has overtaken Riley Cooper as the team’s No. 2 wide receiver in recent weeks, outscoring Cooper 35-2 in the past two weeks in standard scoring. Ever since QB Mark Sanchez came in for the injured Nick Foles, Matthews has in fact been the top target in Philadelphia, recording 10 catches for 178 yards and three touchdowns in that time.

While Matthews has been hot as of late, it’s worth mentioning that he has been pretty consistent for most of the season as well, especially in PPR formats. Matthews has recorded at least three catches in every game since Week 3 and is clearly trusted by current starter Sanchez. Philadelphia’s offense is a well-oiled machine and Matthews has great value playing in that kind of high-octane offense against a mediocre defense.

Don’t be surprised if Matthews catches at least five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in what should be a shootout in Green Bay.
