Fantasy Football Week 12 Sleeper: Coby Fleener
The Indianapolis Colts have one of the best passing games in all of football. Despite losing 42-20 to the New England Patriots, the Colts are still one of the favorites to come out of the AFC. Even when one player goes down with an injury, the Colts have players ready to step up and take on a bigger role. This is the case with Coby Fleener entering Week 12.
It’s hard for any team to find a productive tight end, let alone two. However, that’s what the Colts have done. Both Fleener and Dwayne Allen have become top-10 tight ends in fantasy football. Allen is currently ranked seventh and Fleener is 10th in ESPN standard scoring leagues.
Last week, Allen left the game in the second quarter with ankle injury. As a result, Fleener took on a much larger role for the rest of the game. He caught all seven of his targets for 144 yards, a career high. While he didn’t score a touchdown, Andrew Luck can make anyone into a fantasy-relevant player.
While Allen’s ankle injury seems to be minor, no official statement has been made on his status for Week 12. If he should miss this game, Fleener becomes a top-five tight end option this week.
The Colts take on division opponent Jacksonville Jaguars. When the Colts and Jaguars played in Week 3, Fleener caught four passes for 49 yards and a touchdown. After the beating the Colts took last week, and the loss of Ahmad Bradshaw, expect Luck and the Colts to come out firing on all cylinders this week.
Fleener is currently owned in just 57.6 percent of ESPN leagues. If you need help at tight end or are looking for a Greg Olsen replacement, Fleener is your guy.
