Fantasy Football Week 12 Start or Sit: Kendall Wright

Owners who have Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright on their roster have dealt with a lot of inconsistency this season. For that reason, the amount of times Fantasy Football owners has put him in the starting lineup is far below 40 percent. Even though he has provided plenty of frustrating moments in 2014, I am here to say Wright is worthy of a rare start in Week 12.

The Titans are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles, a very good football team. What the average fan may not realize is Philadelphia’s secondary is subpar, which is a big reason why Aaron Rodgers and his impressive offensive weapons had a field day in Week 11. I understand that it is ridiculous to compare rookie Tennessee quarterback Zach Mettenberger and Wright to Rodgers, Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. However, the fact that the Green Bay Packers trio was able to dismantle Philadelphia’s secondary should give Tennessee confidence that they can do the same.

Wright had four catches for 70 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. Unfortunately, he missed out on both of Mettenberger’s touchdown passes, which is disappointing. With that said, it should be noted that Mettenberger has consistently connected with Wright since becoming the starter, a trend that will only increase as they become more familiar with each other on the gridiron.

I can understand why standard Fantasy Football leagues may be hesitant to start Wright, especially since his value is more related to that of a flex player. The reality is he is projected to record 12 fantasy points in ESPN Standard Leagues on Sunday. Obviously, take that with a grain of salt. At the same time, Wright is going to have another double-digit performance at some point. It is just a matter of owners picking the correct matchup, which is what is available against the Eagles in Week 12.
