Fantasy Football Week 13 Start Or Sit: Darren Sproles

The Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Dallas Cowboys in a Thanksgiving matchup that comes with undeniable NFC East playoff implications. RB LeSean McCoy is an automatic start for fantasy owners and he should produce, but will his partner in crime, RB Darren Sproles, produce enough to be an adequate fantasy football play in Week 13?

McCoy will always get the majority of the Eagles’ carries, but that does not mean Sproles does not see plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points. He will see around 6-10 carries most games, with fair amount being in the red zone. Although QB Mark Sanchez does not seem to be targeting Sproles in the passing game quite as much as QB Nick Foles did, he is still a given to give you five points strictly from that aspect alone.

Also, which we have seen happen on plenty of occasions throughout his career, Sproles is a threat to score TDs on special teams every game.

Dallas’ run defense is better than it has been in recent years, but it’s still painfully average at best and incredibly suspect at worst. Indoors, on a fast track, this matchup sets up perfectly for Sproles to have a chance of scoring through all three avenues he is capable of. If you can sneak Sproles into your flex spot in re-draft leagues, he should be an automatic start.

And on one-week sites, particularly those with one-point PPR formats like Draft Kings and Draft Day, he is a very affordable value choice who could change your fortune for the week.

Considering FanDuel is using a “Thursday Only” format for the Thanksgiving games, I would venture to say Sproles is the best value RB in that slate, being that he is cheaper than Joique Bell yet has a similar ceiling.
