Fantasy Football Week 13 Sleeper: WR Jarvis Landry

Jarvis Landry

The fantasy football world has been taken aback by the number of rookies putting up huge numbers. Besides the obvious names, Jarvis Landry has made a name for himself with the Miami Dolphins. He’s scored a lot over the last four weeks and can make it five on Monday. He’s a nice sleeper option as the regular season winds down.

In his most recent game, Landry hauled in seven passes on 11 targets for 50 yards and two touchdowns. Over the last four weeks, Landry has 24 receptions for 195 yards and four scores. He is outplaying No. 1 wide receiver, and teammate, Mike Wallace, who has 16 catches for 174 yards and two touchdowns in the same span.

Landry is being compared to Hines Ward, which is huge praise. While he doesn’t have the speed, he can overpower defenders and can rip the ball away from them. The lack of speed can hurt his fantasy value a bit, the fact he is being targeted often boosts his value in PPR leagues.

Entering Week 13, Landry is the 49th-ranked wide receiver in ESPN.com standard leagues. If you are in need of a boost at the wide receiver position or looking to get a leg up on the competition, look to Landry. He’s owned in just 18.9 percent of leagues, so he’s widely available.

Landry is a flex option this week against the New York Jets. The Jets defense has been horrible the last few weeks. The defense is ranked 21st in fantasy, allowing opposing wide receivers to score 22.2 fantasy points per game, 49 in the last two games. Ryan Tannehill has shown he isn’t afraid to throw the ball, which can only benefit Landry.
