Fantasy Football Week 13 Start or Sit: Giants D/ST

In most leagues, this is the last week of the regular fantasy football season. This is a make-or-break week if you are on the verge to make the playoffs. In order for you to do that, you need to start the best team possible. The highest picked up player (or team) has been the New York Giants defense; and I can’t say I disagree. Start the defense if you own them.

The Giants travel south to the warm state of Florida and face the Jacksonville Jaguars. As a result, the Giants defense ownership percentage has jumped 45.3 percent, totaling 49.5 percent in ESPN.com leagues. That is how confident fantasy owners are in the Giants defense. Or how unconfident they are in the Jaguars offense.

The Giants defense hasn’t been the best this season. The unit has two negative scores in the last four weeks and scored over 10 points just once this season. The defense hasn’t had an interception in three of their last four games, allowing 125 points in the process.

On the other side, the Jaguars are allowing opposing defense to score 13.4 fantasy points over the last six games and 14.0 points per game on the season. Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles has thrown eight touchdowns and 15 interceptions this season, which bodes well for the Giants defense.

With some top defenses playing high-powered offenses, like the New England PatriotsGreen Bay PackersBaltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs. This makes the widely-available Giants defense much better looking than they would be any other week.
