Fantasy Football Week 13 Sleeper: Eli Manning

Eli Manning is one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks in the NFL. You don’t know if he’s going to put up 300 yards and multiple passing touchdowns, or if you’ll get 200 yards and a few interceptions. This makes him a hard player to start in fantasy football week to week but for Week 13, Manning has nice sleeper potential.

The New York Giants will be going up against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and that typically looks like a good matchup. However, the Jaguars are the 10th-best pass defense in the league, meaning it could be hard to throw against them on Sunday. Most of that ranking likely has to do with the fact that the Jaguars go down to most teams early in a game, and then teams try to run out the clock by running.

Manning also has Odell Beckham Jr. to throw to, making it easier for him to rack up fantasy points. Beckham is athletic and catches anything within his wingspan, so he and Manning should be able to carve up the Jaguars’ defense.

Another reason to like Manning is that he is a streaky player. When the Giants won both of their Super Bowls, Manning was riding two hot streaks throughout the playoffs. He could be getting into one of those streaks again after his performance last weekend. He threw for over 300 yards and amassed three touchdowns vs. no interceptions.  That was quite possibly one of Manning’s best games of the entire season, and could carry over into this week against Jacksonville.

However rare the occurrence is, Manning looks like a sure bet to perform well this week.
