Fantasy Football Week 13 Sleeper: Tre Mason
The St. Louis Rams’ season once again got off to a poor start with the injury to QB Sam Bradford, but they have been playing tough teams very well despite losing their starting QB. The Rams’ ability to run the football and play good defense has kept them in a lot of games, and they even pulled off wins against the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos.
At the beginning the season, it was Zac Stacy who was the No. 1 running back for the Rams, but with him not playing too well, it led to Tre Mason getting a shot — and he was able to take the ball and run with it. This season, Mason has 445 yards rushing on 108 attempts for a solid 4.1 YPC. However, he only has one touchdown in seven games as Benjamin Cunningham seems to be the team’s goal-line back.
In Week 13, the Rams will once again be facing off against an AFC West team, but this time it’s the Oakland Raiders. The 1-10 Raiders have had issues all season defending the run as they are ranked 25th in the NFL in rushing defense, allowing 126.7 yards on the ground.
At home, Mason has been at his best with his two best games of the season coming in upset wins against the Seahawks and the Broncos. With an opponent like the Raiders coming to St. Louis, Mason should be able to put together another very good performance together.
He isn’t a household name yet, but Mason can certainly be a difference-maker for fantasy football owners looking for a victory in Week 13.
