Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup for Dec. 27

Last night was a forgettable one for many DFS players due to Kyle O'Quinn's disappearing act and an unlikely 30-point blowout dished out by the Milwaukee Bucks to the Atlanta Hawks. It served as a reminder that anything can happen on any given night. However, today is a new day and it's time to work on building the perfect NBA FanDuel lineup for Dec. 27. Don't forget to stay up to date with all news leading to tip-off to ensure everyone starts.

I should knock on wood when I write this, but it seems as if D-Rose is back to being a consistently effective star player again. Over his last three games, he has averaged 32.2 fantasy points and needs about 35 to make value. Tonight, he gets to face a New Orleans Pelicans team that gave up over 30 fantasy points to Cory Joseph last night and Rose is clearly a superior talent to Joseph. Therefore, I expect a 35-plus point performance from him.

In his last two contests against the Boston Celtics, The Great Wall has averaged 55.3 fantasy points and there is no reason to believe that he can't have another 50-plus performance tonight against them in a home game. Despite the Celtics playing very well against opposing PGs lately, none of the PGs they've faced over their last eight games are anywhere close to Wall's talent level. Don't overthink this one and get Wall in your lineups tonight.

Many DFS players have bitter feelings towards Ben McLemore especially since he burned so many people last season. However, he's played much better this season and has averaged 22.1 fantasy points over his last eight games. Tonight, he gets to face the New York Knicks and their defense against SGs that's ranked dead last. McLemore needs to score 24.5 fantasy points to make value tonight and he should be able to achieve that with little resistance.

I can hear a collective groan across the internet regarding this pick, especially after Atlanta's disastrous performance against the Milwaukee Bucks last night. However, recency bias must be avoided as the Hawks play the Bucks again tonight and it's still a favorable matchup for Korver. The Bucks are actually ranked next to last against opposing SGs when at home and that's the scenario for tonight. Korver should bounce back nicely for 25-plus.

(SF) Carmelo Anthony - New York Knicks - $9400

Although the Sacramento Kings are ranked sixth against opposing SFs for the whole season, they've actually been ranked 25th over their last five games and are trending in the wrong direction. This bodes well for Carmelo Anthony who will continue to put up as many shots as possible to keep the Knicks competitive on a nightly basis. He needs to score 47 fantasy points to make value tonight and there's no reason why he can't score at least 40.

(SF) Harrison Barnes - Golden State Warriors - $5300

Harrison Barnes had a nice bounceback game against the Los Angeles Clippers on Christmas as he put up 35.1 fantasy points. He had a very favorable matchup that night as the Clippers are ranked 29th in defensive efficiency against SFs. Tonight, he gets to face the Minnesota Timberwolves who are ranked 27th in that regard. Therefore, Barnes has another great matchup to exploit and should score at least 26.5 to make value.

There must be something about the first name Kyle because this is another pick that I can hear a loud groan from the DFS community. However, and once again, recency bias should be avoided since O'Quinn was in foul trouble early and often last night. Therefore, I'm asking everyone to have faith that he will bounce back against a Charlotte Hornets team ranked 24th against PFs. He should be good for around 25 fantasy points tonight.

(PF) Nerlens Noel - Philadelphia 76ers - $6000

Over his last six games, Nerlens Noel has averaged 28.5 fantasy points while needing 30 to justify his price. He gets an extremely favorable matchup against the Utah Jazz tonight who rank dead last in defensive efficiency against the PF position. As long as he avoids foul trouble, which he should in this matchup, Noel should have no issue scoring at least 30 fantasy points and he might even go off for 35-plus.

In his last two games against the Boston Celtics, the Polish Hammer has averaged 31.5 fantasy points. He will need to score 33 tonight to make value and gets to face the Celtics again who are currently ranked 20th in defensive efficiency against centers. Gortat went off for 41.9 against the Celtics in their last meeting, but expectations should be tempered for a similar output tonight. However, he should be good for 30 to 35 in this matchup.
