Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup for New Year's Eve
Getty Images
It's New Year's Eve and the last day of NBA FanDuel action for 2014. Normally, Wednesdays are stacked with a lot of games, but today we only have five to sift through. Therefore, the premium and bargain plays are limited. However, it's still possible to build the perfect lineup in many ways, so let's start the process. As always, please remember to stay up to date on player news throughout the day to avoid being bit by the late scratch bug.

The over/under for the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers game is currently 206 with the Clippers set as a 13-point favorite. Therefore, there is a clear risk for a blowout, but it doesn't mean you should fade the idea of playing CP3. His floor, even in a blowout situation, is around 38.5. The Knicks have been one of the worst defenses against PGs lately, and Paul should be able to hit the 40-point mark for the eighth time over his last 11.

With an over/under of 213 in the Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns game, it is critical to have some exposure to this contest. Many may opt for Russell Westbrook, but news of Kevin Durant possibly returning tonight kills some of Westbrook's value. Therefore, I recommend checking out Goran Dragic instead as he faces a Thunder team that's ranked 25th against opposing PGs. It will be a fast-paced game, and Dragic should be good for 30-plus.

For his price, J-Crossover needs to score 27.5 fantasy points to make value. Facing a New York Knicks team that remains the league's worst in defensive efficiency against SGs will help his case to justify his price. Yes, there is the potential blowout factor, but that shouldn't affect his minutes nor production. At worst, he will score 20, but he could possibly flirt with 30-plus if the Knicks can keep this game close throughout the second half.

Tyreke Evans finally appears to be fully healthy after coming back from his injuries. Over his last four games, he has averaged 34.9 fantasy points and needs 36.5 to make value tonight. Although the Spurs are the top ranked team against SGs for the season, they've actually been ranked 25th over their last five games. Facing the Pelicans in the second game of a back-to-back makes them vulnerable for Evans to flirt with 40.

Gerald Henderson can be very frustrating as he seems to either score 11 or 27-plus. He can be as inconsistent as they come, and the only consistency that can be found with him are his minutes. With Lance Stephenson out, Henderson should play within the 30-minute range tonight against a Houston Rockets team ranked 25th against SGs (his actual position) over their last five games. He's risky, but he should score 23-plus and make value.

Trevor Ariza has proven to be an excellent signing for the Houston Rockets this season even though it doesn't always equate to fantasy goodness. However, tonight is a night that's lining up to be one of those 30-plus games for him. He gets to face the Charlotte Hornets and their league-worst defense against SFs. They also give up the fifth-most rebounds to SFs, and he thrives against teams that yield a lot of boards to his position.
3. (PF) Markieff Morris - Phoenix Suns - $6000

It's been a while since the better half of the Morris twins had a 30-fantasy point night. In fact, he hasn't crossed that plateau in his last seven games, but this should change tonight. He faces an Oklahoma City Thunder team ranked 21st against opposing PFs. Players shouldn't shy away from Serge Ibaka's shot-blocking. This doesn't mean that he shuts down his opponent, and Morris has a skill set that can exploit Ibaka. He will score at least 30.

The pride of Brampton, Ontario excels at offensive rebounding, but not much else. However, this bodes well against the Milwaukee Bucks as they're an average defense against centers (his current starting position) and give up the 10th-most rebounds to that position. It won't be pretty and it won't inspire YouTube highlight videos, but Thompson should be good to score at least 28 to 30 points tonight against a relatively banged-up Bucks frontcourt.

Some may wonder why a third Clipper is being chosen in a game that may already be over as I'm typing this. However, it seems that DeAndre Jordan gets around 35 minutes regardless of the game's score. He gets to face a banged-up New York Knicks team that's been struggling mightily against centers lately. Over their last three games, the Knicks have been ranked 28th against centers, and this bodes well for Jordan to score at least 35 to 45 tonight.
