Top 5 NBA FanDuel Bargains For Jan. 8

After a huge 13-game slate last night, tonight's three-game slate of NBA games pales in comparison. This means that there won't be a slew of bargain players to select from. The good news is that there aren't too many premium-priced players so pricing down shouldn't be as critical. However, you will still need some value plays in your lineup tonight, and these are the top five best bargains.
5. Chris Kaman - C - Portland Trail Blazers ($4600)

With Robin Lopez and Joel Freeland out, the next big man up in the Portland Trail Blazers' center rotation is Chris Kaman. He makes for a great value play for under $ 5000 as he faces a Miami Heat team that's been struggling to defend centers lately. Over their last five games, they ranked dead last in defending the position which bodes well for Kaman to score 22-plus.
4. Patrick Beverley - PG - Houston Rockets ($5600)

Patrick Beverley gets to face the new Fantasy NBA whipping boy, the New York Knicks. It used to be the Philadelphia 76ers, but the Knicks are clearly the worst team in the league currently. While they may not be the absolute worst team against opposing PGs, they're still ranked 24th on the season in that regard. Also, over their last 10 games, they've been ranked dead last. Beverley is poised to score at least 24 fantasy points.
3. Trevor Ariza - SF - Houston Rockets ($5500)

Trevor Ariza is the Narrative Street bargain play of the night as he gets to face his former team in the New York Knicks. As stated already, the Knicks are the worst team in the NBA and they're one of the worst at guarding the SF position, currently ranked 21st in that regard. Even in a blowout situation, which this game look like it's headed for, Ariza should have already amassed close to 27 fantasy points to justify his price.
2. Louis Williams - SG - Toronto Raptors ($5200)

Although the Toronto Raptors have struggled lately with a three-game losing streak, "Sweet Lou" hasn't been struggling along with them. Over his last four games, he has averaged 25.3 fantasy points while needing 26 to justify his price. Facing a Charlotte Hornets team tonight that's been struggling to guard SGs lately is a great situation for Williams to continue his hot streak of scoring. He should score between 23 and 33 fantasy points tonight.
1. Amir Johnson - PF - Toronto Raptors ($4800)

Amir Johnson can be frustrating since he can either score eight or 25-plus fantasy points on any given night. However, one thing to note is that he rarely has two bad games in a row and this can be clearly seen in his game logs from December 2014 until now. Therefore, against a Charlotte Hornets team ranked 21st against opposing PFs, this lines up well for Johnson to have a bounce-back game. He needs 24 to make value, but he will score more.
