Based on last year's numbers and recent trends, here are five fantasy NASCAR veterans to avoid throughout the 2015 season.

5. Greg Biffle

Biffle has been seriously slowing down in recent seasons. He is simply starting to show his age, and before he starts to become the new Mark Martin, it may be time to officially write him off.

4. Martin Truex Jr.

Fantasy fans have been waiting for Truex Jr. to break out for years now, but he keeps disappointing. He finished 24th in points (857) in 2014 and had just one top-five finish on the year. MTJ hasn't progressed in the NASCAR circuit and it may be time to finally give on up the veteran.

3. Tony Stewart

The 2014 season was an absolute disaster for Stewart. He posted only seven top-10 finishes in 22 races, which is now his second consecutive season with under 10 wins. He also failed to win a single race for the first time in his established career. Stewart seems more interested in running his racing team than actually racing, so it would be better to let someone else pay for the name recognition.

2. Ryan Newman

Newman's 2014 season was one for the ages. He finished second with 5,042 points and was only one point away from Champ Kevin Harvick. His value will be much higher throughout the 2015 season, and considering he will likely take a step back, it would be better to avoid the #31 car for the majority of the season.

Gordon shocked the world by saying that the 2015 season would be the last full-time season of his tenured career. The 43-year-old has been on the circuit since 1992 and has simply been doing it for too long. He will likely have a couple strong showings this year, but the idea that he already thinking about parking it in the garage does not bode well for his 2015 fantasy outlook.
